Kyndall Dykes gets MVP of the Week award for Romanian Div.A - Nov 5, 2010 (by Eurobasket News)American Kyndall Dykes (191-F-87, agency: Strategic Sports) had an amazing evening in the last round for CS U-Mobitelco Cluj Napoca and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8.The 23-year old forward had the game-high 27 points adding seven rebounds and six assists for U.Mobitel.CN in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Mures (6-2) 87-85. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Thanks to this victory U.Mobitel.CN moved-up to the 4th position in the Romanian Div.A. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. U.Mobitel.CN will need more victories to improve their 6-2 record. In the team's last game Dykes had a remarkable 57.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be U.Mobitel.CN's top player in his first season with the team. University of New Orleans graduate has very impressive stats this year. Dykes is in league's top in points (2nd best: 20.3ppg) and averages solid 2.5spg and 63.0% FGP. Worth to mention Dykes played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 31-year old Montenegrin guard Darko Vujacic (201-G-79) of BC Arges Pitesti. Vujacic impressed basketball fans with 30 points and 9 rebounds. Of course he lead Pitesti to another comfortable win outscoring Brasov (#16, 0-8) 92-70. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Pitesti dropped in the standings to 11th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 4-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Vujacic is well-known by Pitesti fans and he already established his position as the team's most reliable player.The third best performed player last round was Montenegrin Zeljko Bubanja (210-C-73) of CSU Cuadripol SCM Brasov (#16). Bubanja scored 26 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). Despite Bubanja's great performance Brasov lost 70-92 to the higher-ranked Pitesti (#11, 4-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Brasov can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 8 games. Too bad for Bubanja he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Bubanja has a very solid season. In 2 games in Romania he scored 18.5ppg.Other top performing players last week:4. Donte Gennie (185-G-83) of Pitesti - 26 points, 2 rebounds and 8 assists5.
